Red Dot Events Limited, based in Cambridgeshire, was established in 2006 (formerly called Ovenden Contemporary) to generate exhibition opportunities for visual artists. Over the following years, we represented a fantastic selection of new, emerging and established artists, devised and managed almost 70 exhibitions, participated in art fairs as dealers, published art books and managed national and international art competitions.
In 2009 we began organising charitable fundraising events and artist fairs for regional and national organisations including East Anglias' Children's Hospices, The Sue Ryder Foundation and The Wildlife Trusts for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.
The experience we gained by organising these larger events was invaluable when, towards the end of 2011, we decided that the time was right to develop a city centre art fair in Cambridge. After a 2 year development period the inaugural Cambridge Art Fair 2013 was born. In that first year 2,700 visits and £100,000+ worth of original art sales took place, quickly establishing the event as one of the highlights of the regional art industry.
Each subsequent edition of the art fair since 2013 has boasted significantly higher sales levels, increased event visibility, improved access and a host of new features.
Following the success of the Cambridge Art Fair and a change of name to reflect the new direction, the Red Dot Events portfolio has expanded to include Inspire, a new 'hybrid' event brand that is part home show, part art fair and part food & drink festival. Inspire Shows will be rolled out across the UK in the next few years, starting with Cambridge in September 2018.
We have also launched an exciting new joint venture with our partners Iliffe Media, Motor Show EAST at the fantastic Rowley Mile at Newmarket Racecourse.
These events are part of an ever-expanding programme of high-profile trade and consumer events that appeal to a discerning client base in multiple industries. We look forward to seeing you at our next event!
